Baby Marionette built by Josephine Everett
The Guthrie BFA Actor Training Program's Argonautika was directed by Joel Sass in the Guthrie's Dowling Studio. Puppet built by Josephine Everett and designed by Arina Solobodinik.
The baby marionette was created primarily out of foam, paper mache, tape, and a doll. The doll was used a a structure to build off of and pad out in order to create the silhouette the designer was looking for. The paper mache was cut and laid in a circular motion creating a unique and almost mummied effect. Lastly, the eyes were made and the puppet was finally painted.
